The site has a free trial, after which time it costs: $16.95 for a playoff pool $16.95 for a regular season pool NOTE: the cost is the price for the ENTIRE pool, not per poolie. How many poolies can be in a single pool? We don't have any 'set limit' (at this time) but if you have a pool with more than 50 poolies, please contact us to let us know how many poolies will be in your pool. If the amount is so large that it will cause a problem, we'll let you know =) Did this service used to be free? Yes it was free for quite a while, but the ads and donations didn't keep pace with the costs of running the site, so we needed to start charging. The amount we ask is small enough that it should not be a problem for 99% of hockey pools. When do you update your stats? Our stats are updated nightly after all games are complete and stats can be verified. This usually occurs between 3:00-4:00am Pacific Time. Can you fix an error in your stats? Our stats provider sources stats from several different leading stats providers online, including NHL.com, ESPN and others. When there is a discrepancy between stats providers, the majority rule is used to determine which stat is used. As days pass and the multiple providers agree on the stat, our system will automatically be updated. If you have a stats error to report, we encourage you to do so. However, please FIRST check with more than one online stats provider to ensure that what you are reporting is indeed a mistake. We will then investigate and correct the error as soon as possible, quite often the same day. To report an error that you have verified, use our contact/support form. How do I add new poolies or picks, or make other changes to my pool? When you setup your pool, you specified both a VIEW password and an ADMIN password. You need to use your ADMIN password to login to make changes to your pool. This includes changing your pool settings, adding new poolies, or entering/changing picks made by your poolies. I forget my ID, password, or admin password. To retrieve your ID or password, simply go to the HockeyPools.net home page and click on the "I forget my ID/Password" link. Your ID, view password, and admin password will be e-mailed to the address provided when you created your pool. Do you support trades? Not at this time, but we may do so in the future. We have received a limited number of requests for trades, and want to keep the site as simple as possible. However if we get a lot more requests, we will consider implementing this feature. What stats do you support? Presently we support for players: goals, assists, power play goals, and short handed goals; and for goalies: wins and shutouts. You can determine for each of those stats, how many points should be given. Presently this must be an "integer" (ie. you can't specify 2.5 points for shutouts, etc.) We've had a small number of requests for other stats, and if we get a lot of requests for other stat types we may add them in the future. Can your system automatically drop the lowest X players from our stats totals? At this time we don't support dropping the lowest X number of players from your poolies' stats. We have received a few requests for this, and again if we receive a lot of requests we may choose to implement this feature in the future. Do shootouts count towards player or goalie stats? No, shootout goals do not count towards a player's stats (as a goal). They also do not count towards a goalie's shutout stats (ie. if two goalies had a 0-0 tie, then went to a shutout, both goalies would get a shutout on their stats, regardless of the shootout outcome). However only the winning goalie would ever get a WIN for that game.
